Denver, North Carolina is in Lincoln County, about 25 miles northwest of Uptown Charlotte by road. Search engines and map apps sometimes default to Colorado; add ‘NC’.
Not the east shore
Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, and Mooresville sit across the lake in Mecklenburg and Iredell counties. Sherrills Ford and Terrell lie north in Catawba County.
ZIP code is not a boundary
The 28037 ZIP code is a postal area. It does not define subdivision, school zone, or utilities.
The county map
Lake Norman's shoreline touches four counties. Mecklenburg holds the southern and eastern shore around Cornelius, Davidson, and Huntersville. Iredell holds Mooresville and the northeastern shore. Catawba holds the northwest, including Sherrills Ford and Terrell. Lincoln holds the southwest shore, which includes Denver. Each county runs its own planning, permitting, schools, and tax administration, so the county line is one of the most important facts about any lake address.
