Accessibility

We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA.

Our approach

Semantic structure, keyboard navigation, visible focus, labeled forms, sufficient contrast, and reduced-motion support. Report a barrier through the contact page.

What we've built in

Every page has a skip link to the main content, a logical heading structure, keyboard-reachable menus and controls, and visible focus outlines. Forms have visible labels and clear error messages. Images carry descriptive alternative text, and illustrative images are captioned. Animations respect your device's reduced-motion setting.

Tell us about a barrier

If any part of the site is hard to use with your browser, device, or assistive technology, use the contact page and describe the page and the problem. We treat accessibility reports as corrections.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is part of every new page and feature. As we add maps, directories, and listings, each one will be reviewed for keyboard support, screen reader labels, color contrast, and touch-target size on mobile. Interactive tools such as the community comparison, research checklists, and build-versus-buy planner use native form controls so they work with assistive technology.

Questions

Do interactive tools work with a keyboard?
Yes. The comparison tool, checklists, planner, menus, and forms all use native controls that can be reached and operated with a keyboard.
Which standard do you follow?
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across the site.
How do I report an accessibility problem?
Use the contact page and describe the page, your device or assistive technology, and the issue you ran into.
