A curated, verified directory is in progress. These guides explain how we decide what to include.

How we curate
Every listing will show its address, official website, operating status, source, and verification date. We publish no ratings, reviews, or prices we have not verified. Sponsored listings will be labeled.
What belongs in a west-shore directory
Denver's daily life runs along a handful of corridors. NC-16 carries most north–south errands, NC-73 links the shore toward Cowans Ford Dam and Huntersville, and smaller roads like Webbs Chapel Church Road and Optimist Club Road connect neighborhoods to both. A useful local directory reflects that geography instead of pretending every place on a map is around the corner.
We sort every business and destination by its relationship to Denver: in the core area near the NC-16 and NC-73 crossroads, elsewhere in the Denver postal market, nearby but outside the coverage area, or across the lake. That last label matters. A restaurant in Cornelius can look minutes away on a map, but by road you drive around the water.
Parks come first
Public recreation is the part of the directory we can document most reliably, because it is run by public agencies with official pages. Rock Springs Nature Preserve and Beatty's Ford Park are the two best-known Lincoln County destinations near Denver. Each has its own guide, along with a separate guide to public lake access, because a park near the lake is not always a place to launch a boat.
